Amateur Island Pickleball Palooza

Join us at the Brickway Tennis & Pickleball Club for the first annual Amateur Island Pickleball Palooza. This is a doubles tournament, so bring a friend! The tournament is double-elimination and we will have other activities, as well as a silent auction to help raise money for our cause. Registration is limited to 22 teams of 2 players each. The first 10 teams to register will receive a bye in the first round of the bracket, so early registration is encouraged. Registration opens on August 25th at 12:00PM EST. Teams will be a $90 entry fee or $45 per person.

Tournament shirts are available for preorder with purchase of team entry fees. The shirts will be $24 with preregistration or $28 the day of the tournament. Double Elimination Pickleball Tournament Rulebook

Tournament Structure

1.1 Format

- The tournament will be conducted in a double elimination format.

 - Teams must lose twice to be eliminated from the tournament.

1.2 Brackets

- The tournament will feature a Winners' Bracket and a Losers' Bracket.

- Teams that lose in the Winners' Bracket will move to the Losers' Bracket for a chance to continue competing.

- The last team remaining in the Losers' Bracket will face the last team remaining in the Winners' Bracket in the final round.

2. Match Format

2.1 Series

- Each match is a best-of-three series.

- A team must win two out of three games to win the match.

2.2 Game Scoring

- Each game is played to 11 points.

 - A team must win by at least 2 points. If the score reaches 10-10, play continues until one team achieves a 2-point lead.  

3. Rules and Regulations

  3.1 Court and Equipment

- Games will be played on standard pickleball courts.

- Players must use regulation pickleball paddles and balls.

3.2 Team Composition

- Each team consists of 2 players (doubles format).

 - Player substitutions are not allowed once the match has started.

  3.3 Match Conduct

 - Teams must be ready to play at their scheduled time. A 5-minute grace period will be allowed for any team that is late. After 5 minutes, the late team may forfeit the match. - All players must conduct themselves in a sportsmanlike manner. Unsportsmanlike conduct may result in disqualification.

 4. Tournament Rules

4.1 Winners' Bracket

 - Teams begin in the Winners' Bracket.

 - The winner of a match in the Winners' Bracket advances to the next round of the Winners' Bracket.

- The loser of a match in the Winners' Bracket moves to the Losers' Bracket.

4.2 Losers' Bracket

- Teams enter the Losers' Bracket after their first loss.

 - The winner of a match in the Losers' Bracket advances to the next round of the Losers' Bracket.

 - The loser of a match in the Losers' Bracket is eliminated from the tournament.

4.3 Final Rounds

 - The last team in the Winners' Bracket faces the last team in the Losers' Bracket in the final round.

 - If the team from the Losers' Bracket wins, a second match (if necessary) will be played to determine the tournament champion.

5. Dispute Resolution

5.1 Rule Interpretations

- Any disputes or questions regarding rules will be resolved by the tournament rules committee. 

 6. Awards and Recognition

- Awards will be given to the top teams as determined by the tournament structure.
