Our Team

Noah Davis, President

My name is Noah Davis, and I am a graduate of Indiana State University. From a young age, sports have played a significant role in my life, shaping both my personal and professional development. Athletics provided me with the opportunity to form lasting friendships and cultivate essential skills in teamwork and communication.

These experiences have been foundational in my current role as a collegiate athletic trainer, where I apply the lessons learned from sports to help athletes achieve their full potential. My work is dedicated to creating an environment that promotes both physical and personal growth.

In this role, I am committed to imparting the same positive impact that sports had on my life to the individuals I work with, helping them to develop the critical skills and values that will serve them well beyond their athletic careers. Through my dedication and passion, I strive to inspire and support others in their journey, just as sports have inspired and supported me.

Christopher Hawk, Vice President

Chris is a dedicated teacher with a passion for learning and growth in the classroom. Outside of his professional life, he enjoys playing music, diving into some good books, and spending time on the golf course. Growing up he wrestled, golfed, and played football. Playing these sports helped him learn key life values and lessons that helped him with many successes in his life. He knows the importance of giving youth the opportunity to be able to learn through sports and that's what he hopes to do here at Amateur Island.

Michael Kurtz, Director of Marketing

My name is Michael Kurtz, and I am a dedicated high school athletic trainer with a lifelong passion for youth athletics. I graduated from Indiana State University, where I focused on my studies while maintaining an active involvement in various sports activities. Growing up, I played a wide range of sports, forming lifelong friendships and developing essential life skills. These early experiences instilled in me a strong work ethic and a deep sense of accomplishment. In my professional career, I am committed to ensuring that all children have the opportunity to engage in athletics. I believe that sports provide invaluable lessons and experiences that contribute to the holistic development of young individuals. Through my work, I strive to create an inclusive environment where every child can experience the benefits and joys of athletic participation, fostering the same passion and growth that sports brought to my own life.

cole waggoner, Treasurer

Ever since I began playing tee ball 20+ years ago, sports have played a pivotal role in shaping me into the man I am today. Having gone through the trials and tribulations of both team and individual sports, I think sports have been one of the most important aspects of learning essential life lessons firsthand. Being a vehicle for lessons in my own personal growth and resilience, sports is something that I think every child should have equal opportunity to pursue, regardless of their circumstances.

Between my work here at Amateur Island and my pursuit of a career in physical therapy, I strive to make a continuous impact in my local community. I’ve been lucky enough to have opportunities providing local pro bono physical therapy services, along with volunteering at Special Olympics events, charitable powerlifting events, and our events here at Amateur Island, and I look forward to continuing these pursuits in positively impacting as many lives as I can!

My involvement in sports growing up allowed me to gain a passion for athletics that taught me crucial life skills that I will be able to use in my athletic field career. It is our generations responsibility to ensure that the next group also gets to experience what doors can be opened in life from the opportunity of sports.
